Usina da Pedra

The group’s first unit and the cradle of agribusiness development in the interior of the state of São Paulo. Located at Fazenda da Pedra, in Serrana, in the Ribeirão Preto region, it was acquired in 1931 by Pedro Biagi, an Italian immigrant. The first harvest, in 1931, added up to 3,600 bags of sugar. In the 1970s, with Proálcool, it reached an important level in the Brazilian agribusiness scenario. It was revamped, and in the 1980s, began its expansion process, becoming, in 2007, the Pedra Agroindustrial S/A group. As at other units, its planting and harvesting is 100% mechanized. The Pedra Plant is currently undergoing an upgrade and it is expected to be able to crush 5 million tons of sugarcane by 2020.

Buriti Plant

The Buriti Plant deployment process got underway in 1993, when the Pedra Plant acquired the Apediá distillery, installed in Vilhena, in the state of Rondônia. The distillery was dismantled, and the equipment transferred to Fazenda São Luiz da Esplanada, in Buritizal, in the state of São Paulo. Equipment assembly started in 1994, and the unit started operating in 1995, crushing some 140,000 tons of sugarcane and producing 12.2 million liters of hydrated ethanol.

Ipê Plant

Located in Nova Independência, in the northwest region of the state of São Paulo, is the group’s newest unit. It started being implemented in 2004, with the first sugarcane plantations, and its industrial park was opened in April 2008. With a modern agribusiness plant and undergoing an upgrade, it is expected to be able to crush 3.5 million tons of sugarcane by 2020.
